Description

Features

A stainless steel camp kettle you can hang over an open fire, set on a gas stove or use on induction at home: no coatings, nothing to burn off. 1 L makes two big coffees; 1.5 L does a family's tea and the dishwater.

Key facts

  • 1 L or 1.5 L
  • 304 stainless lid, 201 stainless body
  • Safe on campfire, gas stove and induction
  • About 295 g

Why this one

  • Open flame is fine: aluminum and coated kettles are not.
  • Scrub it with steel wool; nothing to damage.
  • One kettle for camp and kitchen.

Good to know

Use a glove or a pot grip on the handle over a fire. Soot on the outside comes off with a scouring pad, or stays as camp patina.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Which size?

1 L makes two big coffees; 1.5 L does a family's tea and the dishwater.

Can I put it straight on the campfire?

Yes. 304 stainless lid and 201 stainless body, no coatings to burn off. Use a glove or a pot grip on the handle.

Does it work on induction at home?

Yes, stainless works on gas, campfire and induction.

How do I clean it?

Soap and water; soot on the outside comes off with a scouring pad, or leave it as camp patina.

How does it compare with an aluminum kettle?

Heavier per litre, but you can hang it over open flame, scrub it with steel wool and never worry about a coating. For campfire use, stainless is the right metal.
