Description

Features

An integrated stove system: 1 L pot, heat-exchanger base, burner and lid as one unit that boils half a litre in under two minutes and packs inside itself at 511 g. For solo hikers and couples who mostly boil: coffee, freeze-dried meals, noodles.

Key facts

  • Boils 0.5 L in 1 min 42 s, 1 L in about 3.5 min; 7,506 BTU
  • Heat exchanger improves efficiency by up to 30%
  • Piezo ignition; screw-on isobutane canisters (a 230 g can fits inside the pot)
  • 511 g, packs to Ø12.8 × 17.3 cm
  • Tritan bowl, Gradient or Camouflage options

Why this one

  • Same idea as the well-known integrated systems, at a fraction of the price.
  • Fast and stingy on fuel: the heat exchanger is the reason.
  • Everything nests: no loose stove rattling in the pack.

Good to know

It boils better than it simmers; for frying and sauces use a flat burner like the Lac. No pressure regulator, so keep the canister warm on cold mornings.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Who is it for?

Solo hikers and couples who mostly boil: coffee, freeze-dried meals, noodles. Pot, burner and lid are one unit that packs inside the 1 L pot at 511 g.

How fast does it boil?

Half a litre in 1 minute 42 seconds; one litre in about 3.5 minutes. The heat exchanger on the pot base is what makes it fast and stingy on fuel.

What fuel?

Screw-on isobutane canisters (the 230 g one fits inside the pot with the burner). Piezo ignition built in.

Can I simmer?

It boils better than it simmers: there is no pressure regulator, so low flame takes a light hand. For frying and sauces use the Lac stove.

How does it compare with a Jetboil-type system?

Same idea: integrated pot, heat exchanger, lid and the canister stowed inside. The FMS-X1 gives you that, with a Tritan bowl option.
