Questions
Posées en magasin, réponses de nos ajusteurs
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: beginners about 15 cm under their height, intermediates 8 under, advanced skiers 3 under and experts 2 over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 165. We carry 155, 160, 165 and 170 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
Kästle gives no formal level: it calls the RX12 SL its top piste model, a slalom carver for ambitious piste skiers.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomed runs. It's Kästle's top piste model, a World Cup-inspired slalom carver with a race finish.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Kästle says it delivers precise edge grip and explosive short-radius turns, with a race finish and a wood core in a carbon-fibreglass wrap.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It's sold as a set with Kästle's K12 TRI GW binding in mint, on Kästle's TRIFLEX plate; the binding adjusts to your boot size without tools.
When will it ship?
This is a pre-order item; it is expected to ship in November 2026. Your card is charged when you place the order.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
Yes. Kästle says the K12 TRI GW is fully GripWalk-compatible: it takes both alpine and GripWalk ski boots with no adjustment to the sole.
Is it a short-turn or long-turn ski? What does SL mean?
Short turns. SL stands for slalom: Kästle calls it a slalom carver built for explosive short-radius turns.
Is it stiff or soft?
Medium. Our fitters rate it medium: not as stiff as race skis like the Fischer RC4 ST.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Camber: Kästle lists a standard camber profile for it.
What warranty does it have?
It's covered by Borderline Outdoor's 1-year warranty. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
