Naturehike Ice Field Little Fire God Tabletop Firewood Stove (2026)

Description

Features

A small wood stove for the campsite table, made to be watched. The Naturehike Icefield Little Fire God (item CNK2450CF034) is a 430 stainless steel firebox with Schott glass rated to 800 °C on two sides, so everyone around the table sees the fire, and a lidded cooking port on top that opens onto the flames for a kettle, a moka pot or a small skillet. Two clip-on shelves keep mugs and snacks warm, a rotary vent on the side door and a sliding vent underneath set the size of the fire, and the ash drawer and rake make clean-up quick. At about 5.3 kg with a carry handle and folding legs, it suits couples and small groups car camping or sitting out on a cold evening at the site or on the porch, who want a real fire, a hot drink and something to cook.

Safety: Naturehike's instructions rule out cars, campers and any closed indoor space, because a wood fire in still air makes carbon monoxide. As supplied it is an outdoor stove: a table in the open, a porch, an open-sided shelter. It comes with three chimney pipes and no stove jack, spark arrestor or heat sleeve, so in a tent use it only in a hot tent with a factory stove jack, with the chimney extended well above the roof, a heat sleeve where it passes through the jack and a CO alarm running, and never while everyone sleeps. Stand it level on a firm, non-flammable surface a metre from anything that burns and out of strong wind. The body, glass and pipes get hot enough to burn, so keep children and pets back. Burn firewood or wood pellets only, and replace cracked glass before the next fire.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Is it a heater or a cook stove?

Both, on a small scale. The fire warms the people sitting around the table and shows through glass on two sides, and the lidded port on top opens onto the flames for a kettle, a moka pot or a small skillet. The two clip-on shelves keep a mug or snacks warm. Naturehike publishes no heat-output figure, so think of it as a campfire for the table, not a heater for the whole site.

What can I burn in it?

Dry split firewood cut small enough for the firebox, which is about 26 cm wide on the outside, or wood pellets. Naturehike's instructions rule out anything else, so no charcoal, garbage, painted or treated wood, and no lighter fluid. A fire stick or a starter cube under dry kindling gets it going.

Can I use it inside my tent?

Not as it comes out of the box. Naturehike rules out cars, campers and closed rooms because a wood fire makes carbon monoxide, and it ships with three chimney pipes and no stove jack, spark arrestor or heat sleeve. Use it outdoors: at a table in the open, on a porch, under an open-sided shelter. Inside, only a hot tent with a factory stove jack, extra pipe to carry the chimney well above the roof, a heat sleeve at the jack and a CO alarm, and never while everyone sleeps.

Can I use it on a wooden deck or a picnic table?

Not straight on wood or plastic. Stand it level on a metal camp table or grid, stone pavers or bare ground, a metre from anything that can burn and out of strong wind. The body and legs get very hot, and embers can drop when you open the side door or pull the ash drawer, so keep the ground in front of it clear and a bucket of water close.

Is it allowed during a fire ban?

Usually not. Ontario Parks does not allow any stove that isn't gas or liquid-fuelled during a fire ban, and in a provincial Restricted Fire Zone a wood stove is only allowed near a home, on non-flammable ground, with a spark arrestor on the chimney, which this stove doesn't come with. Towns and private campgrounds set their own rules, so check the by-law or the park office before you light it.

How do I set it up and light it?

Fold out the legs, fit the two glass panels and put the chimney pipes on the right way up. Open the rotary vent on the side door and the sliding vent underneath, light kindling through the side door with a torch or lighter, then add wood and close the vents down to slow the burn. There is no igniter and no control beyond the vents, so never leave it burning unattended.

How do I clean it, and how does it pack?

Once it is completely cold, pull out the ash drawer, rake out the rest and wipe the body and glass with a damp cloth and a little dish soap, then dry it. The steel darkens with heat, and 430 stainless can spot with surface rust if it is put away damp, so store it dry. The chimney pipes ride inside the firebox and the kit goes in the included storage bag: 25.7 x 18.3 x 23.6 cm and about 5.3 kg, with a carry handle.

Can I see it in store, and can I return it?

Yes. Order online for pickup at Richmond Hill, Newmarket or Ottawa when it is in stock there. Unused stoves in original packaging can be returned within 14 days; items discounted more than 39% are final sale. Once it has had a fire in it, it is yours.
