A lunch-box-sized butane heater for the campsite table. The Naturehike Mini (item CNK2300CW018) takes a standard 227 g butane cassette cartridge, which slides in from the side and is held by a magnet, and gives about 1.1 kW of radiant heat: enough for the one or two people sitting in front of it on a cold evening. The top is a small cooking surface for a kettle or pot, and the removable front shelf keeps a mug of coffee or tea warm. Piezo ignition is built into the knob, an over-pressure device shuts the gas off if the cartridge overheats, and Naturehike rates a full cartridge at about 3 hours flat out and up to 4 hours turned down. Made of 201 stainless steel and cold-rolled plate, it weighs 1.4 kg and packs in any camping bin; pull the cartridge out for transport.
Safety: outdoor and well-ventilated use only, as the label on the heater says. It uses oxygen and gives off carbon monoxide, so never run it in a closed tent, camper or vehicle, and never while sleeping.
Precautions: keep ventilation when using, otherwise there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Do not store or use flammable fuels such as gasoline or alcohol near the appliance. Remove the gas cartridge after use and store it out of the reach of children. Keep face and body away from the top of the flame.

FAQ
A standard 227 g butane cassette cartridge, the long can that portable tabletop stoves use. It slides in from the side and a magnet holds it; pull it straight out to remove. We sell them in 4-packs in store and online.
No. It burns gas in the open air, uses up oxygen and gives off carbon monoxide, so it is for outdoors and well-ventilated shelters only: a porch, an open-sided canopy, an ice hut with the door open. Never run it while you sleep.
About 1.1 kW, the size of a small radiant heater. Think of it as heat for the one or two people sitting right in front of it; the top takes a small kettle and the removable front shelf keeps a mug warm. It will not heat a whole site.
Naturehike rates a full 227 g cartridge at about 3 hours flat out and up to 4 hours turned down, at roughly 80 g of gas an hour. One cartridge covers an evening; bring a spare for a cold weekend.
It is rated for -5 C to 40 C. Below about -5 C butane stops vaporising and the flame weakens, so keep the spare cartridge in a pocket and swap to a warm one, and set the heater out of the wind.
Piezo ignition is built into the knob, and an over-pressure device shuts the gas off if the cartridge gets too hot. Keep the cartridge side away from the flame and other heat, keep face and hands clear of the top, pull the cartridge out after use and store it out of reach of children.
1.4 kg and 19 x 18.5 x 16.5 cm, about the size of a lunch box. It packs in any camping bin and the cartridge pulls out for transport.
Yes to both. Pick up at Richmond Hill, Newmarket or Ottawa when it is in stock there, and grab the cartridges at the same time. Unused heaters in original packaging can be returned within 14 days; items discounted more than 39% are final sale.
