Questions fréquentes
Ajusteurs BorderlineOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 160 cm tall gets about 152 cm, so the 154. We carry 147 and 154 cm.
It's for intermediate to expert skiers. Elan pitches it at progressing from groomers to mixed snow, and its skill chart runs from intermediate well into expert.
Groomers to mixed snow. Elan says it's precise on groomed terrain, smooth and agile in mixed snow, and floats when the snow stacks up. At 85–86 mm (our 147 and 154 cm) it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Elan promises strong edge grip and precise handling on groomed terrain. Its Amphibio profile keeps camber along each ski's inside edge, carbon rods and UD carbon edge bands add stiffness, and there's no metal layer.

Ripstick 88 W
Elan Ripstick 88 W women's freeride / all-mountain ski from the 26/27 Ripstick collection. Sold flat, without bindings.
Progress from groomers to mixed snow with confidence and control in any terrain.
Experience seamless transitions from turn to turn as you explore the mountain in confidence and control as these skis adapt effortlessly to changing conditions. With unparalleled edge grip and precise handling on groomed terrain, the Ripstick 88 remains smooth and agile in mixed snow conditions. With just enough width, the skis rise to the occasion when the snow stacks up and effortlessly floats through powder.
Ripstick is Elan's high-performance freeride / all-mountain ski that stays light and nimble. For 26/27 the geometry was reshaped for a more centred feel: the radius shifted forward, the tip slightly narrower and the tail slightly wider, for flotation in soft snow and intuitive turn entry and exit. The new construction is 5% lighter, size-specific UD carbon keeps the flex consistent through the range, and flax fibre in the tip reduces vibration. On the women's (W Studio) Ripstick the mounting position sits a centimetre further forward for balance, and the profile is designed to give a consistent flex regardless of size.

Questions
Posées en magasin, réponses de nos ajusteurs
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 160 cm tall gets about 152 cm, so the 154. We carry 147 and 154 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for intermediate to expert skiers. Elan pitches it at progressing from groomers to mixed snow, and its skill chart runs from intermediate well into expert.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomers to mixed snow. Elan says it's precise on groomed terrain, smooth and agile in mixed snow, and floats when the snow stacks up. At 85–86 mm (our 147 and 154 cm) it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Elan promises strong edge grip and precise handling on groomed terrain. Its Amphibio profile keeps camber along each ski's inside edge, carbon rods and UD carbon edge bands add stiffness, and there's no metal layer.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 86 mm waist. Elan recommends a 95 mm brake for it.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
What's its turn radius?
The turn radius is 11.8 m at 147 cm and 12.8 m at 154 cm.
Is it a women's ski? How is the W different?
Yes. It's Elan's women's (W Studio) Ripstick 88: Elan moves the mounting point a centimetre further forward for balance and designs the profile to flex the same in every size. Anyone can ski it if the length fits; we carry 147 and 154 cm.
Is it stiff or soft?
Soft. Elan doesn't publish a flex rating; this is from independent reviews and ratings.
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It uses Elan's Amphibio profile: camber along the inside edge for grip and rocker on the outside edge for easy turning, so the left and right skis are different.
What warranty does it have?
Elan gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
