À propos

Redster G9 Revoshock S + I 12 GW

Race-room geometry, with Revoshock damping to keep the edge on the snow through chatter instead of skipping across it. A 67mm waist and a 15m–18m radius put this at the carving end of the range — it wants to be put on edge and driven.

Questions

Posées en magasin, réponses de nos ajusteurs

What length should I get?

Our Find my length tool starts from your height: advanced skiers about 3 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 175 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 169 cm, so the 171. We carry 171 and 176 cm.

Is this ski right for my level?

It's for advanced and expert skiers. Atomic rates it advanced to expert and fits it with race tech for your fastest days on the hill.

Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?

Groomed runs at speed: Atomic built it to turn your local piste into your own race course. Its 67 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.

Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?

Yes. It has Active Camber (full camber) for grip on icy slopes, a Titanal layer (TI Powered) and Ultrawall race sidewalls for edge grip, and Revoshock S damps ruts and chatter.

Does it come with bindings?

Yes. It comes with Atomic's I 12 GW binding (max DIN 12) on Atomic's Icon Flex Interface. Atomic says its free-gliding plate, fixed at the heel, lets the ski bend under your boots for grip along the whole edge, and the toe and heel adjust without tools.

Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?

Yes, standard alpine boots and GripWalk boots: GW in Atomic's binding names marks GripWalk compatibility. GripWalk is a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.

Is it a short-turn or long-turn ski?

Long turns. G marks Atomic's giant-slalom shape for fast, wide turns, and Atomic lists its turn style as long. The radius is 16 m at 171 cm and 17 m at 176 cm.

Is it a men's or women's ski?

It's a unisex ski: Atomic lists it as unisex, so pick by length. We carry 171 and 176 cm.

Is it stiff or soft?

Stiff. Atomic doesn't publish a flex rating; this is from independent reviews and ratings.

Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?

Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.

Does it have rocker or camber?

Full camber: Atomic's Active Camber (0/100/0), which increases edge contact for better edge grip on icy slopes and stability.

What warranty does it have?

Atomic gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
