About
Elan Wildcat S8 C LS Skis + EL 9.0 GW Bindings - Women's
The Elan WildCat S8 Carbon is a ski that allows you to ride perfectly on the slopes. Thanks to the slightly wider construction, the ski is multifunctional and suitable for all conditions. In the morning on well-groomed slopes, the ski offers optimal control and grip. Later in the day, when the slopes are a bit rutted, the slightly wider construction makes it easy to drive through piles of snow. The ski is easy to control and is a reliable partner in all conditions. Elan skis have been further developed for this season and are equipped with the new Amphibio Truline technology. Amphibio Truline technology takes asymmetric Elan skis to the next level. Based on Truline technology, the materials are strategically distributed along the entire length of the ski. Reinforced material is placed on the inside of the ski. This ensures increased and optimal edge pressure on the downhill ski along the entire length of the ski. This in turn results in tremendous stability and dynamic arcs. Less material is used on the outside of the ski. This allows easy and perfect turning.

RST Racing Sidewall
The construction of the RST side edges contributes to the optimal transfer of power and energy from the skier to the edges of the skis and guarantees maximum edge hold from tip to toe.
Laminated wood core
Laminated wooden core along the entire length of the ski. Different types of wood are used in a varied composition to make the ski flexible
can be adapted to the range of use of the ski. This wooden core allows very precise control of the ski. Furthermore, the wooden core ensures the direct transfer of forces to the edges of the ski.
This makes the WildCat S8C excel in all conditions.
Carbon
The wooden core is reinforced with carbon. This provides more stability at higher speeds. In addition, the carbon reinforcement provides greater torsional stiffness.
Thanks to carbon, the ski is slightly lighter and less stiff than skis reinforced with titanium.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: beginners about 15 cm under their height, intermediates 8 under, advanced skiers 3 under and experts 2 over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 160. We carry 144, 150, 152, 158, 160 and 168 cm.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomers first. Elan's description says it gives control and grip on well-groomed morning slopes, and its slightly wider 76 mm build drives through rutted snow later in the day. 76 mm is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Our Elan description says Amphibio TruLine puts extra reinforcement along the inside edge for more edge pressure, and carbon adds torsional stiffness. It has no metal layer.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It comes with Elan's EL 9.0 GW binding (DIN 2.5–9) on Elan's built-in binding rail.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
The EL 9.0 GW takes standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What do C, LS and GW mean?
C means the ski has a carbon layer, which our Elan description says makes it a bit lighter and less stiff than a titanal (metal) ski. LS is Elan's Light Shift binding rail, and GW means the binding takes GripWalk boot soles.
Is it a women's ski?
It's listed as women's, but skis aren't really men's or women's: length decides. Anyone can ski it if one of our lengths (144–168 cm) fits.
Is it stiff or soft?
A little softer than a metal ski: our Elan description says the carbon reinforcement makes it lighter and less stiff than titanium-reinforced skis.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It uses Elan's Amphibio profile: camber along the inside edge for grip and rocker on the outside edge for easy turning, so the left and right skis are different.
What warranty does it have?
Elan gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
