About the Dancer series

Seek freedom and a sense of play. The Dancer Series brings the signature Dancer feel—precision, energy and smoothness—into a more accessible build. Built around a simpler, yet responsive poplar wood core, these skis are lighter underfoot, easier to pivot, and more forgiving through variable snow. These skis eliminate Titanal in favor of a more maneuverable feel that requires less energy to control, perfect for skiers seeking versatility across the full spectrum of conditions. They're ideal for intermediate-advanced skiers who want quick turn initiation, reduced fatigue on long days, and a lively, forgiving ride that still performs when pushed at a variety of speeds. Built in Austria using recycled materials and 100% renewable energy.

Questions

Asked in store, answered by our fitters

What length should I get?

Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 159 cm, so the 158. We carry 152, 158, 166, 172 and 178 cm.

Is this ski right for my level?

It's for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers. Faction built it for skiers who want to ski fast but under control with an easygoing, forgiving feel.

Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?

Groomed runs. Faction made it for skiers who are on the piste 100% of the time (its ratings: all-mountain / carving 8/10, freeride / powder 3/10, park 2/10). Its 79 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.

Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?

Faction's tip and tail rocker with traditional camber is built for high-performance edge hold, with 2.5 mm XL edges. It has no Titanal, so it's lighter and takes less energy than a metal carver.

Does it come with bindings?

Yes. SYS means Faction sells it as a system: Salomon Strive 11 GW bindings come with it in a separate box, plus extra tip protection. They aren't mounted at the factory; we mount them in store.

Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?

Yes. The Salomon Strive 11 takes both standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles, and its DIN goes up to 11. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.

What's its turn radius?

The turn radius changes a lot with length: 12 m at 152 cm, 13 m at 158, 14 m at 166, 16 m at 172 and 17 m at 178 cm.

What do 79 and SYS mean?

79 is the waist width in mm (118/79/107). SYS means it's sold as a system with bindings, here Salomon Strive 11 GW.

Is it stiff or soft?

Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10, with its Mustache Flex.

Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?

Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa: the bindings arrive in their own box, not mounted at the factory. We set them to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted, with the bindings boxed.

Does it have rocker or camber?

Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot. Faction says this blends edge hold with easy turn starts and tail release.

What warranty does it have?

Faction gives a two-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
