Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164, 171 and 177 cm.
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers. It's comfortable at moderate speeds and capable of more when you're ready, with a lighter poplar core and no metal.
All-mountain, beyond the groomers. Faction calls it an accessible freeride ski: the 99 mm waist floats in softer snow and stays manageable on firmer runs; ratings all-mountain / carving 8/10, freeride / powder 7/10, park 2/10. At 99 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Faction gives it traditional camber underfoot for edge hold, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, but no Titanal. Faction says the 99 mm width floats in softer snow while staying manageable on firmer terrain.

About the Dancer series
Seek freedom and a sense of play. The Dancer Series brings the signature Dancer feel—precision, energy and smoothness—into a more accessible build. Built around a simpler, yet responsive poplar wood core, these skis are lighter underfoot, easier to pivot, and more forgiving through variable snow. These skis eliminate Titanal in favor of a more maneuverable feel that requires less energy to control, perfect for skiers seeking versatility across the full spectrum of conditions. They're ideal for intermediate-advanced skiers who want quick turn initiation, reduced fatigue on long days, and a lively, forgiving ride that still performs when pushed at a variety of speeds. Built in Austria using recycled materials and 100% renewable energy.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164, 171 and 177 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers. It's comfortable at moderate speeds and capable of more when you're ready, with a lighter poplar core and no metal.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All-mountain, beyond the groomers. Faction calls it an accessible freeride ski: the 99 mm waist floats in softer snow and stays manageable on firmer runs; ratings all-mountain / carving 8/10, freeride / powder 7/10, park 2/10. At 99 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Faction gives it traditional camber underfoot for edge hold, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, but no Titanal. Faction says the 99 mm width floats in softer snow while staying manageable on firmer terrain.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. SYS means Faction sells it as a system: Salomon Strive 11 GW bindings come with it in a separate box, plus tip protectors for extra durability. They aren't mounted at the factory; we mount them in store.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
Yes. The Salomon Strive 11 GW takes both standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles, and its DIN goes up to 11. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What's its turn radius?
The turn radius grows with length: 15 m at 164 cm, 16 m at 171 and 18 m at 177 cm.
What do 99 and SYS mean?
99 is the waist width in mm (132/99/123). SYS means it's sold as a system with bindings, here Salomon Strive 11 GW. No Ti in the name means no metal; Faction's Dancer 99 Ti is the metal version.
Is it stiff or soft?
Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10. Its Mustache Flex is stable underfoot for edge hold and smoother in the tips and tails to soak up bumps.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa: the bindings arrive in their own box, not mounted at the factory. We set them to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted, with the bindings boxed.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot (about 3 mm, per Faction's spec sheet), for edge hold, easy turn starts and float in soft snow, with what Faction calls a freeride flat tail.
What warranty does it have?
Faction gives a two-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
