Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 157 cm, so the 159. We carry 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers who like to butter, ski backwards and do tricks all over the mountain, not just in the park.
All-mountain with park DNA. Faction made it to pop, stomp and surf across any terrain, and rates it 8/10 for both all-mountain / carving and park / freestyle and 6/10 for powder. At 98 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Faction keeps it stiff underfoot for carving, with traditional camber, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, and a carbon and rubber stomp pad absorbs hits and vibration.
About
Prodigy 2 Capsule
The Faction Prodigy 2 Capsule is the artist edition of Faction's 98 mm Prodigy 2, with artwork by Elsa Grace: an all-mountain ski with park DNA, made to pop, stomp and surf across any terrain. Faction rates it for intermediate to expert skiers; its terrain is all-mountain plus park and pipe.
Its poplar core is soft and poppy enough to butter slushy rollers yet stiff underfoot for carving, and a carbon and rubber stomp pad absorbs hits. The topsheet adds orange and green to Elsa Grace's final Prodigy Capsule collection.
Key features
- Lightweight poplar core — poplar only, for pop, butters and landings with enough torsional grip on the way down
- Carbon and rubber stomp pad — 600 × 15 mm underfoot; protects the core on rails and absorbs landings
- Mustache Flex — firm around the binding for edge hold, softer in the tips and tails to absorb bumps

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 157 cm, so the 159. We carry 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers who like to butter, ski backwards and do tricks all over the mountain, not just in the park.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All-mountain with park DNA. Faction made it to pop, stomp and surf across any terrain, and rates it 8/10 for both all-mountain / carving and park / freestyle and 6/10 for powder. At 98 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Faction keeps it stiff underfoot for carving, with traditional camber, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, and a carbon and rubber stomp pad absorbs hits and vibration.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 98 mm waist.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
What does Capsule mean?
Capsule is Faction's artist series: this one is the final chapter of Elsa Grace's Prodigy Capsule residency, drawing on citrus, botanical and antique-tile motifs. Faction gives it the same 127/98/119 mm shape, core and flex as the Prodigy 2. The 2 is Faction's model number in the Prodigy series (Faction says higher numbers are wider); the waist is 98 mm.
Is it a women's ski?
Faction's website lists the Prodigy 2 Capsule as unisex, while Faction's 26/27 dealer sheet files the Capsule editions under women's. Faction gives it the same shape, core and flex as the Prodigy 2, so pick it by length; we carry 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
Is it stiff or soft?
Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10. Faction says the poplar core is soft and poppy enough for buttering slushy rollers but stays stiff underfoot for carving.
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Where should the bindings be mounted?
Faction gives a Progressive mount point for it, with a 4.1 x 9 mm drill size.
What warranty does it have?
Faction gives a two-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
