Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 157 cm, so the 159. We carry 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers who like to butter, ski backwards and do tricks all over the mountain, not just in the park.
All-mountain with park DNA. Faction made it to pop, stomp and surf across any terrain, and rates it 8/10 for both all-mountain / carving and park / freestyle and 6/10 for powder. At 98 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Faction keeps it stiff underfoot for carving, with traditional camber, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, and a carbon and rubber stomp pad absorbs hard landings and chatter.
About
Prodigy 2
The Faction Prodigy 2 (2026/27) is a 98 mm-waist all-mountain twin tip for intermediate to expert freeskiers who want one ski for park laps and the rest of the mountain, available in 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
A lightweight poplar core gives the Prodigy 2 Faction's Mustache Flex, rated 7/10: soft tips for butters, a supportive middle for carving. A carbon and rubber stomp pad under the binding absorbs hard landings and chatter. Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot pairs edge hold on firm snow with easy pivots and float in soft snow, and XL 2.5 mm edges with full-strength sidewalls stand up to rails and boxes.
Faction rates the Prodigy 2 at 8/10 for park and freestyle, 8/10 for all-mountain carving and 6/10 for powder. Turn radius runs from 12 m (159 cm) to 18 m (177 cm). Topsheet artwork "CHASM" by Parade Studio.
Good for
- Park and pipe laps: jumps, rails and switch landings
- All-mountain freestyle days: side hits, rollers and groomer carves
- Changeable Eastern Canada resort snow, from firm mornings to soft spring afternoons
Is the Faction Prodigy 2 good for beginners? It fits skiers past the beginner stage; the 7/10 flex and 98 mm waist reward confident intermediate technique and up.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 157 cm, so the 159. We carry 159, 165, 171 and 177 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers who like to butter, ski backwards and do tricks all over the mountain, not just in the park.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All-mountain with park DNA. Faction made it to pop, stomp and surf across any terrain, and rates it 8/10 for both all-mountain / carving and park / freestyle and 6/10 for powder. At 98 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Faction keeps it stiff underfoot for carving, with traditional camber, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls, and a carbon and rubber stomp pad absorbs hard landings and chatter.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 98 mm waist.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
Is it stiff or soft?
Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10: soft tips for butters and a supportive middle for carving, per its Mustache Flex (stable underfoot, smoother in the tips and tails).
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot (about 3 mm, per Faction's spec sheet), for edge hold on firm snow and easy pivots and float in soft snow, on a directional twin shape.
Is this the current model?
Yes. It's the 26/27 Prodigy 2: new 'CHASM' artwork by Parade Studio on the same construction as before (lightweight poplar core, carbon and rubber stomp pad).
Where should the bindings be mounted?
Faction gives a Progressive mount point for it, with a 4.1 x 9 mm drill size.
What warranty does it have?
Faction gives a two-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
