Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164, 172 and 178 cm.
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers, and calls it intuitive, balanced and stable, for avid skiers looking to progress across everything the mountain has to offer.
All-mountain and powder. Faction calls it an all-mountain freeride twin tip for packed snow and powder alike, and rates it 8/10 for all-mountain / carving, 7/10 for freeride / powder and 7/10 for park. At 106 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Faction gives it traditional camber underfoot, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls for edge hold, with an elliptical sidecut that makes turns easy to start. Its 106 mm waist is built for packed snow and powder alike.
About
Prodigy 3 Capsule
The Faction Prodigy 3 Capsule is the artist edition of Faction's 106 mm Prodigy 3, with artwork by Elsa Grace: an all-mountain freeride twin tip for packed snow and powder alike. Faction rates it for intermediate to expert skiers; its terrain is freeride, all-mountain and powder.
Faction calls it intuitive, balanced and stable, with a directional twin shape and elliptical sidecut that keep it user-friendly for avid skiers progressing across the mountain. It carves hard yet pivots, smears and butters, and is built for finding leftover pockets of powder.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164, 172 and 178 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
Faction rates it for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers, and calls it intuitive, balanced and stable, for avid skiers looking to progress across everything the mountain has to offer.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All-mountain and powder. Faction calls it an all-mountain freeride twin tip for packed snow and powder alike, and rates it 8/10 for all-mountain / carving, 7/10 for freeride / powder and 7/10 for park. At 106 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Faction gives it traditional camber underfoot, XL 2.5 mm edges and full-strength sidewalls for edge hold, with an elliptical sidecut that makes turns easy to start. Its 106 mm waist is built for packed snow and powder alike.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 106 mm waist.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
Is it a women's ski?
Faction's website lists the Prodigy 3 Capsule as unisex, while Faction's 26/27 dealer sheet files the Capsule editions under women's. Faction gives it the same shape, core and flex as the Prodigy 3, so pick it by length; we carry 164, 172 and 178 cm.
Is it stiff or soft?
Faction rates the flex 7 out of 10. Its Mustache Flex is stable underfoot for edge hold and smoother in the tips and tails to soak up bumps.
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot (about 3 mm, per Faction's spec sheet), for edge hold, easy turn starts and float in soft snow, on a directional twin shape with a lightweight poplar core and sintered base.
Where should the bindings be mounted?
Faction gives a Progressive mount point for it, with a 4.1 x 9 mm drill size.
What warranty does it have?
Faction gives a two-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
