Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: advanced skiers about 3 cm under their height; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 163. We carry 149, 156, 163 and 170 cm.
It's for advanced skiers, per Salomon: a piste ski for people who want to carve properly without stepping all the way into a race ski.
Groomed runs. It's Salomon's on-piste carver for cruising or carving all day; its 72 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Yes. It has two Titanal layers (Double Ti), which Salomon says give grip and precision on hard snow.
About
E Addikt + MI12 GW
The Addikt is Salomon's on-piste ski for skiers who love spending all day on groomed runs, sold as a set with the MI12 GW binding. Salomon rates it for advanced skiers, for cruising or carving.
Its Motion Tail makes the tail 5% more flexible, which Salomon says gives a forgiving yet responsive ride all day. The 72 mm waist keeps it agile, and two titanal layers with semi-sandwich sidewalls give stability and liveliness through fast turns.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: advanced skiers about 3 cm under their height; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 163. We carry 149, 156, 163 and 170 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for advanced skiers, per Salomon: a piste ski for people who want to carve properly without stepping all the way into a race ski.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomed runs. It's Salomon's on-piste carver for cruising or carving all day; its 72 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Yes. It has two Titanal layers (Double Ti), which Salomon says give grip and precision on hard snow.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It comes as a set with the Salomon MI12 GW system binding (DIN 4–12), which adjusts to your boot length without tools.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
The MI12 GW takes standard adult alpine and GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What's its turn radius?
Salomon gives 11 m at 149 cm, 12 m at 156 cm, 13 m at 163 cm and 14 m at 170 cm.
What do E and MI12 mean?
The E version is sold as a set with the binding. MI12 GW is that binding: DIN 4–12, GripWalk-compatible.
Is it stiff or soft?
Medium. Our fitters rate it medium: not as stiff as race skis like the Fischer RC4 ST.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Salomon's On-Piste Profile: a little tip rocker (15%), no tail rocker, camber underfoot.
What warranty does it have?
It's covered by Borderline Outdoor's 1-year warranty. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
