Common questions
Borderline fittersSalomon rates the Strive 12 GW for intermediate skiers; it covers DIN 4–12, with a skier-weight range of 49–120 kg. Your release value (DIN) should be set by a qualified binding technician for your weight, height, age, ability and boot sole length.
Match the brake to your ski: 90 mm for narrow piste skis, 100 mm for all-mountain, 115 mm for anything genuinely wide. Too narrow and the brake will not close over the ski; too wide and it drags in the snow on edge. The 115 mm brake is offered in White / Black.
It is GripWalk compatible. Each binding weighs 930 g. Colours: Black / Silver, White / Black, Trooper, Cosmic Sky and Oil Fluid.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery (14 days from purchase for in-store purchases). Items must be unused and new, in the original packaging with all tags and accessories. Items discounted more than 39% are final sale unless there is a quality issue. Start a return through our online returns portal, or bring the item and your order details to any of our stores.
About
Strive 12 GW
The Strive 12 GW is a flat-mount all-mountain binding from Salomon's Strive family, rated by Salomon for intermediate skiers. It covers DIN 4–12 for skiers of 49–120 kg and is made for skiers who want more power and control and a shorter response time.
Salomon built it around an ultra-low-profile toe that lowers the centre of gravity, so you feel every part of the terrain and get more out of each day on skis. A wide AFD pad, 47 mm of elasticity and an extra-wide three-part heel add stability, security at speed and a strong hold.
Key features
- LDN toe — ultra-low centre of gravity with an extra-wide pedal and neutral stance, for more snow feel
- 47 mm of elasticity — builds confidence and security at speed
- 72 mm AFD pad, extra-wide toe pedal (>60 mm) — more contact between boot and binding for stability and power transfer
- Three-part heel — an extra-wide heel for a strong hold and stability
