A thick closed-cell foam egg-nest mat with an R-value of 2.5: under an air bed or cot to stop the cold coming up, on its own as a summer sleeping pad, or unfolded as a sit pad by the fire. It cannot puncture and never needs inflating.

What is it for?

Under an air bed or cot to stop the cold coming up, on its own as a summer sleeping pad, or unfolded as a sit pad by the fire. 187 × 56 cm.

What does R 2.5 mean?

R-value is insulation from the ground. R 2.5 covers spring to fall on its own, and added under an air bed it fixes the cold-air-bed problem in October.

How does it pack?

Accordion fold to 56 × 13 × 20 cm, straps included.

Will it wear out?

Closed-cell PE foam dents over time but never leaks or needs inflating. Rinse it, let it dry, done.

How does it compare with the R1.8 egg nest and an inflatable pad?

The R1.8 is thinner and lighter for backpacking; this is thicker and warmer for car camping. An inflatable pad is more comfortable but can puncture; this one cannot puncture. Under an air bed, this is the one to buy.
