A low, light camp cot that keeps you off cold, rocky or wet ground. The Naturehike GreenField XJC05 (item NH20JJ001) puts a tensioned polyester Oxford deck on a 7075 aluminum alloy frame: 190 × 65 cm, 15 cm off the ground, rated by Naturehike for about 150 kg. Two side poles slide into the sleeves of the bed cloth and five leg frames lever into place to pull the fabric tight, so the deck stays firm instead of sagging overnight. At about 2.2 kg it packs into a zippered carry bag. Use it in a roomy tent, at the cottage or in a bunkie, or on the dock for an afternoon read.
Good to know: the last leg frames take a firm push to lock; that tension is what keeps the deck flat. Naturehike's instructions fit the middle frame first, then the others. Air moves under a cot, so on cool nights put an insulated sleeping pad on the deck. In a tent, check that the floor is longer than 190 cm.

Naturehike recommends about 150 kg (330 lb) or less. The frame is 7075 aluminum alloy with triangle-braced legs and 1.6 mm-wall cross tubes. Sit or lie down near the middle rather than dropping onto one end, and keep the load within that figure.
Set up it is 190 x 65 cm and 15 cm high: low enough to use in a roomy tent, high enough to clear rocks, roots and wet ground. In a tent, check that the floor is longer than 190 cm and has room for a 65 cm-wide bed.
About 2.2 kg. The bed cloth, poles and leg frames pack into a zippered carry bag roughly 54 x 18 cm, small enough to slide into a car trunk beside the rest of your gear or onto a cottage closet shelf.
Slide the two side poles into the sleeves along the bed cloth, fit the middle leg frame first, then lock the other frames. The last ones take a firm push on the lever to snap in, which is what pulls the deck tight: kneel beside the cot and press down. It gets quicker after the first try.
On cool nights, yes. Air moves under a cot and draws warmth from below, so an insulated pad on the deck keeps you warm. A single pad fits the 65 cm-wide deck; the Naturehike Thickened Egg Nest mat, 187 x 56 cm, sits on it with room to spare.
The bed cloth, two side poles, five leg frames, a zippered carry bag and instructions. No pad or pillow is included: add a sleeping pad for warmth on cool nights and a camp pillow, both of which we stock.
Brush off dirt and wipe the Oxford fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap; Naturehike notes it is easy to scrub. Let the bed cloth dry completely before packing, using the hanging ring to hang it up, and store the cot dry to prevent mildew.
Yes to both. Pick up at Richmond Hill, Newmarket or Ottawa when your colour is in stock there. Unused cots in original packaging can be returned within 14 days; items discounted more than 39% are final sale.
