About

Orka Visor

The single best argument for a visor helmet on a child is that there is nothing to lose. No goggles to leave on a chairlift, no strap to fight with in a lift line, no gap between goggle and helmet for snow to find. The Orka's lens flips up out of the way when they are walking around the lodge and drops down for the run.

Sizes run by head circumference: KS 49–53 cm, KM 53–56 cm, KL 56–59 cm — measure around the forehead just above the eyebrows rather than guessing from age.

Key features

  • Integrated convenience — This helmet integrates Salomon's exclusive Flash visor, so you can enjoy better vision and never be looking for your goggles again.
  • Easy to adjust fit — This helmet features a Custom Dial adjustment system, making it quick and easy to adjust the helmet to a young rider’s growing head.
  • Lightweight — The In-Mold Shell keeps the weight of this helmet down, for more comfort and less effort on the mountain.

Questions

Asked in store, answered by our fitters

How do I size this for my child?

Sizes go by head circumference: KS 49–53 cm, KM 53–56 cm, KL 56–59 cm. Measure around the forehead just above the eyebrows rather than guessing from age; the Custom Dial adjusts as their head grows.

Why a visor helmet instead of goggles for a kid?

The Flash visor is built in, so there are no goggles to lose on a chairlift and no gap between goggle and helmet for snow to find. It flips up for walking around the lodge and drops down for the run.

Can my child wear glasses under the visor?

Yes. Salomon notes the visor clears glasses, so they don't have to squeeze an oversized goggle over them. Have them try it on with their glasses to check.

Is it certified, and how heavy is it?

It's certified to ASTM F2040 and CE EN1077. The in-mold shell keeps it to about 435 g, and the venting is fixed.

When will it ship?

This is a pre-order item; it is expected to ship around November 1, 2026. Your card is charged when you place the order.

What warranty does it come with?

It is covered by Borderline Outdoor's 1-year warranty. If something goes wrong, contact us or visit any of our stores with your order details.
