About

Bent 90

The Bent 90 is an all-mountain and park ski in Atomic's Bent freeski family, one that Nico and Miguel Porteous call the Swiss Army knife. Atomic says it floats through powder laps in the morning and handles the park in the afternoon, and rates it from beginner to expert. It is sold flat.

HRZN Tech Tip & Tail are bevelled, with 10% more surface area for float and a playful feel at a lower weight. All Mountain Rocker 20/70/10 sits on a directional shape, a Light Woodcore keeps it light and responsive, and extra-durable Resist Edges are made for endless rail slides. The Bent 100 is the wider choice in the family (100 mm, Powder Rocker, freeride HRZN 3D) for deeper snow.

Questions

Asked in store, answered by our fitters

What length should I get?

Our Find my length tool starts from your height: beginners about 15 cm under their height, intermediates 8 under, advanced skiers 3 under and experts 2 over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 157 cm, so the 157. We carry 157 and 166 cm.

Is this ski right for my level?

Yes, at any level: Atomic rates it from beginner through expert.

Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?

The whole mountain plus the park. Atomic calls it a freestyle ski at home ripping the whole mountain or in the park. At 90 mm underfoot it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs, for soft snow off the sides of the trail.

Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?

It isn't built for that. It's made to be skied loose, switch and off the sides of the trail rather than railed on edge, with no metal layer and rocker in the tip and tail.

Does it come with bindings?

No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 90 mm waist.

Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?

That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.

What do Bent and 90 mean?

90 is the waist width in mm (118/90/109 at 157 and 166 cm). Bent is Atomic's freeski family; Chris Benchetler does the topsheet and base art.

Is it stiff or soft?

Medium. Our fitters rate it medium: not as stiff as race skis like the Fischer RC4 ST.

Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?

Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.

Does it have rocker or camber?

Atomic's All Mountain Rocker (20/70/10): early rise in the tip and a little in the tail, with camber underfoot, for skiing on and off piste.

Where should the bindings be mounted?

We mount it on Atomic's recommended line.

What warranty does it have?

Atomic gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
