About
Redster Q6 + MI 12 GW
The Q series is the Redster shape softened for everyday piste skiing: you get the race family's edge grip without the stiffness that only pays off at race speed. A 78.5mm waist keeps it quick edge to edge, and a 13.1m–15.5m radius means it will hold a long arc when you open it up.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and advanced skiers about 3 cm under; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an intermediate skier 175 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 164. We carry 164 and 172 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for intermediate to advanced skiers: Atomic says it was developed for them.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomed runs in any conditions, from the first turns of autumn to spring slush, per Atomic. Its 79–79.5 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Yes. Full camber (Active Camber) grips on icy slopes, and Atomic calls its Dura Cap sidewalls, Power Woodcore and Titanal laminate (TI Powered) bombproof construction.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It comes with Atomic's MI 12 GW binding (DIN up to 12) on Atomic's Pro Trak system rail. Atomic calls it a light, flexible all-mountain binding with toolless adjustment.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
Yes for alpine and GripWalk boots: Atomic says the MI 12 GW's pedal automatically adapts to alpine or GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What's its turn radius? What does Q mean?
The turn radius is 13.9 m at 164 cm and 14.7 m at 172 cm. Q is Atomic's all-conditions piste line, with a multi-radius sidecut.
What do Redster and Q6 mean?
Redster is Atomic's piste and race family. Atomic uses S for slalom (tight turns), G for giant slalom (wide turns), X for a multi-radius sidecut and Q for its one-ski-for-all-conditions piste line. MI 12 GW is the binding (DIN up to 12).
Is it a men's or women's ski?
It's a unisex ski: Atomic lists it as unisex, so pick by length. We carry 164 and 172 cm.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Full camber: Atomic's Active Camber (0/100/0), which increases edge contact for better edge grip on icy slopes and stability.
What warranty does it have?
Atomic gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
