Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: advanced skiers about 3 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 161. We carry 154, 161, 168 and 175 cm.
It's for advanced and expert skiers, per Atomic's rating, who want precise turns of every size on the piste.
Pick by turn shape first. S8: slalom shape for short, tight turns (11.7–13.8 m radius). G9: giant-slalom shape for long, open turns (15–18 m), with the most technology of the three: Revoshock S steel damping, a Carbon Boost insert, Ultrawall sidewalls and the race plate. X7: in between, a multi-radius sidecut for short and long turns (13–15.1 m), on Atomic's Pro Trak plate. All three are race replicas: race-ski feel built for the piste, for advanced and expert skiers.
Groomed runs, all season long: Atomic calls it a versatile on-piste ski built to maximize your fun on the groomers. Its 69 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
About
Redster X7 Revoshock C + MI 12 GW
The in-between Redster. X is Atomic's multi-radius sidecut, splitting the difference between the slalom S and the giant-slalom G, so it makes short and long turns equally well (a 13–15.1 m radius by length). It's the race-replica feel for skiers who don't want to pick one turn shape.
Inside: a Power Woodcore, a Titanal layer (TI Powered), Dura Cap sidewalls and Revoshock C damping to keep it smooth and predictable. It sits on Atomic's Pro Trak plate rather than the race plate on the S8 and G9, so the feel underfoot is a little softer.
Key features
- Multi Radius Sidecut — short and long turns both sit precisely
- Revoshock C — absorbs shocks and vibration for a smooth, predictable ride
- TI Powered + Power Woodcore — torsional stiffness and stability
- Dura Cap Sidewall — strong edge grip and a robust, durable ski

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: advanced skiers about 3 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 3 more if you mostly carve. Example: an advanced skier 170 cm tall who mostly carves gets about 164 cm, so the 161. We carry 154, 161, 168 and 175 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for advanced and expert skiers, per Atomic's rating, who want precise turns of every size on the piste.
Redster G9, S8 or X7: which one?
Pick by turn shape first. S8: slalom shape for short, tight turns (11.7–13.8 m radius). G9: giant-slalom shape for long, open turns (15–18 m), with the most technology of the three: Revoshock S steel damping, a Carbon Boost insert, Ultrawall sidewalls and the race plate. X7: in between, a multi-radius sidecut for short and long turns (13–15.1 m), on Atomic's Pro Trak plate. All three are race replicas: race-ski feel built for the piste, for advanced and expert skiers.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomed runs, all season long: Atomic calls it a versatile on-piste ski built to maximize your fun on the groomers. Its 69 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Yes. Full camber (Active Camber) grips on icy slopes, a Titanal layer (TI Powered) and Power Woodcore add stability, and Atomic says the Dura Cap sidewall gives next-level edge hold. Revoshock C absorbs bumps and chatter.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It comes with Atomic's MI 12 GW binding (DIN up to 12) on Atomic's Pro Trak system rail. Atomic calls it a light, flexible all-mountain binding with toolless adjustment.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
Yes for alpine and GripWalk boots: Atomic says the MI 12 GW's pedal automatically adapts to alpine or GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What's its turn radius?
The turn radius runs from 13 m at 154 cm to 15.1 m at 175 cm. X marks Atomic's Multi Radius Sidecut.
What do Redster, X7 and Revoshock C mean?
Redster is Atomic's piste and race family; the X models have its Multi Radius Sidecut. Revoshock C is Atomic's damping, which eliminates vibration for more stability. MI 12 GW is the binding (DIN up to 12).
Is it a men's or women's ski?
It's a unisex ski: Atomic lists it as unisex, so pick by length. We carry 154, 161, 168 and 175 cm.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
Full camber: Atomic's Active Camber (0/100/0), which increases edge contact for better edge grip on icy slopes and stability.
