Groomed runs. It's a 74 mm-wide piste ski for learning and cruising, in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs; Elan's terrain chart sits at the groomed end, not powder.
It's a forgiving learning ski rather than an ice carver: a wood core with fibreglass and no metal layer. Elan says GrooveTip and the slim 74 mm footprint give easy turn entry, trusted edge hold and confident control.

What length should I get?

Yes. It comes with Elan's EL 9.0 GW binding (DIN 2.5–9, 78 mm brake) on Elan's Shift X binding rail.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
The EL 9.0 GW takes standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
Is it a short-turn or long-turn ski?
Medium turns. Its turn radius is 13.9 m at 160 cm and 15.4 m at 168 cm, between a short-turn slalom ski and a long-turn GS-style ski of the same length.
Is it a men's ski?
Elan lists the Element 74 Blue with its men's skis; the women's version is the Element 74 W, with the same 122/74/103 mm shape and turn radius. Anyone can ski it if one of our lengths (160 or 168 cm) fits.
Is it stiff or soft?
Soft and forgiving. Elan describes it as light and forgiving, made for building skills.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It has Elan's Early Rise Rocker: a gently raised tip that Elan says makes turns smooth and effortless.
What warranty does it have?
Elan gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
