Questions & answers

Why polycotton instead of polyester?

Polycotton (35% cotton, 65% polyester) breathes. It stays cooler in the sun, warmer at night and much drier inside, because condensation passes through the fabric instead of dripping on you. It is also quieter in wind. The trade-off is weight: 15.5 kg for the tent.

How do I look after a polycotton tent?

Pitch it and wet it once before the first trip so the fibres swell and seal the seams. Never pack it away damp: dry it fully at home or it will mildew.

Can I run a stove inside?

The tent is built with a stove in mind; pair it with a wood stove and a fireproof mat, keep the vent open and never sleep with the stove burning.

How many people and how tall?

A 440 × 440 cm footprint with a single centre pole, 200 cm at the peak. Four to six sleeping around the pole, or two people with a full living area.

What are the Mat and Inner tent options?

The tent has no sewn-in floor. Add the Mat for a groundsheet, or the Inner tent for a sealed, bug-proof bedroom inside the pyramid.

How does it compare with a polyester dome tent?

A polyester dome is lighter; this is the tent you stay in for a week. Cooler by day, drier by night, quiet in wind, and it takes a stove, so the season runs into November. If you camp two nights a year, buy the dome; if you glamp, buy this.
