Features

The Star River EXT is a two-person ultralight tent built around 10D nylon — one of the lightest fabrics used in a production backpacking tent. It's for people already counting grams, on trips where the forecast is settled.

What 10D buys and costs you

  • 10D is roughly half the thread weight of the 20D used on most ultralight tents, which is where the weight saving comes from.
  • The trade-off is a 1,500 mm fly rating — fine for showers and typical three-season weather, but not a tent for sustained storms.
  • Treat the fabric accordingly: pitch on cleared ground and use the footprint.

Living space

  • Fly covers 220 × 270 cm; the inner tent is 210 × 130 × 105 cm — the gap between the two is vestibule, where wet boots and packs go.

Care

  • Dry fully before storing. Lightweight coatings are the first thing to fail if a tent is packed damp.
