Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 175 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164 and 172 cm.
It's for confident intermediates up to experts. Elan's skill chart for the Playmaker 91 starts in the intermediate range and runs into expert.
All over the resort, plus the park. Elan calls it an all-mountain twin as comfortable in variable snow as on park features, narrow enough for tight trees and wide enough to surf new snow. At 91 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
It's a soft-snow and park twin rather than an ice carver, with no metal layer. Elan says its full 360° sidewall gives strong edge grip and that it can still carve well.
About
Elan Playmaker 91 Skis (Flat)
Rookie of The Year
The Swiss army knife of freeride twins, Playmaker 91 is narrow enough to slash through tight trees, wide enough to surf through new snow, and playful enough to drop into the terrain park on a sunny afternoon with your squad.
The narrower footprint of Playmaker 91 gives this ski the versatility to leave it's mark in any conditions. The Tubelite Woodcore uses carbon rods to give this ski a smooth, poppy, and playful personality while 3D trapezoid construction provides a light and powerful feel. The 360° sidewall delivers superior edge grip and is combined with the smooth rocker profile and tip & tail shapes of Dual Float Technology for peak flotation that can still carve exceptionally. Whether you're lapping the park and pipe with friends, dicing up hardpack between storms, or scoring freshies, this is the utility player you're looking for to make plays wherever you're finding fun on the mountain.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and experts about 2 cm over; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter; minus 5 more if you mostly ski the park. Example: an intermediate skier 175 cm tall who mostly skis the park gets about 162 cm, so the 164. We carry 164 and 172 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for confident intermediates up to experts. Elan's skill chart for the Playmaker 91 starts in the intermediate range and runs into expert.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All over the resort, plus the park. Elan calls it an all-mountain twin as comfortable in variable snow as on park features, narrow enough for tight trees and wide enough to surf new snow. At 91 mm it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
It's a soft-snow and park twin rather than an ice carver, with no metal layer. Elan says its full 360° sidewall gives strong edge grip and that it can still carve well.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 91 mm waist.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
What does 91 mean?
91 is the waist width in mm: Elan builds the Playmaker 91 at 122/91/116 in every length. Playmaker is Elan's freeride twin-tip line, made to ski forwards or backwards.
Is it a men's or women's ski?
It's a unisex ski: Elan lists the Playmaker 91 with both its men's and women's skis. Pick by length; we carry 164 and 172 cm.
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It has Elan's Surf Rocker, a rockered twin-tip profile that Elan says floats in either direction; thin Dual Float tips and tails cut weight and add float.
Is this the current model?
Yes. Elan carries the Playmaker 91 over into its 26/27 range unchanged, with the same model code and 122/91/116 mm shape.
What warranty does it have?
Elan gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
