Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: beginners about 15 cm under their height and intermediates about 8 cm under; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: a beginner skier 175 cm tall gets about 160 cm, so the 160. We carry 160, 168 and 174 cm.
It's for progressing skiers, from beginners moving up to intermediates. Elan pitches it at taking your skiing to the next level, whether you're mastering your turns or exploring new terrain.
Groomers first, with room to explore. Elan builds its all-resort Wingman for early-morning groomers and late-afternoon chop, and this narrower footprint saves energy for all-day skiing. Its 79–80 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Elan's PowerLine build puts carbon reinforcement along the cambered inside edge for stronger edge grip, with an easy-to-steer outside edge, and the RST racing sidewall adds edge hold. There's no metal layer, so it stays light.
About
Wingman 80 C + EL 10.0 GW
Elan Wingman 80 C all-resort ski from the 26/27 Wingman collection, sold as a set with the Elan EL 10.0 GW binding (Shift X system).
Skis built with the right technology to easily take your skiing to the next level.
Experience effortless control and precise maneuverability with optimized materials and a narrower footprint to conserve your energy for all day riding. Whether you're mastering your turns or exploring new terrain, these skis provide the confidence and dependability you need to enjoy every moment on the mountain.
Elan's all-resort family is built to work as a wide ski for carvers and a narrow ski for freeriders. The tip has a cambered inside edge and subtle rocker on the outside edges for a precise, direct turn entry; slight tail rocker and taper keep it forgiving and easy to slide when you need to shave speed in tight places.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: beginners about 15 cm under their height and intermediates about 8 cm under; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: a beginner skier 175 cm tall gets about 160 cm, so the 160. We carry 160, 168 and 174 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for progressing skiers, from beginners moving up to intermediates. Elan pitches it at taking your skiing to the next level, whether you're mastering your turns or exploring new terrain.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
Groomers first, with room to explore. Elan builds its all-resort Wingman for early-morning groomers and late-afternoon chop, and this narrower footprint saves energy for all-day skiing. Its 79–80 mm waist is in the 66–80 mm range we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Elan's PowerLine build puts carbon reinforcement along the cambered inside edge for stronger edge grip, with an easy-to-steer outside edge, and the RST racing sidewall adds edge hold. There's no metal layer, so it stays light.
Does it come with bindings?
Yes. It's sold as a set with Elan's EL 10.0 GW binding in black / red (DIN 3–10, 78 mm brake) on Elan's Shift X system.
Will my boots fit the bindings? What does GW mean?
The EL 10.0 GW takes standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles. GW means GripWalk: a rockered, rubber-treaded sole that makes walking easier.
What's its turn radius?
The turn radius is 12.1 m at 160 cm, 13.0 m at 168 and 14.4 m at 174 cm. Elan says it shortened the family's radius slightly for better carving.
What do 80 and C mean?
80 is close to the waist width: 79–80 mm on our 160–174 cm. C means carbon: Elan reinforces its C all-resort skis with a UD carbon layer instead of titanal (metal). EL 10.0 GW is the binding, with DIN up to 10.
Is it a men's ski?
Elan makes the Wingman as its men's all-resort line; the women's line is the Wildcat. Anyone can ski it if one of our lengths (160–174 cm) fits.
Do you mount the bindings? Do I need to bring my boots?
Yes, free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It uses Elan's Amphibio profile: the tip has a cambered inside edge and subtle rocker on the outside edge for precise turn entry, and slight tail rocker and taper keep it forgiving. Left and right skis are different.
What warranty does it have?
Elan gives a 2-year warranty on this ski. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
