Common questions
Borderline fittersOur Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and advanced skiers about 3 cm under; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 162. We carry 162 and 172 cm.
It's for intermediate to advanced skiers. Fischer calls it the perfect entry-level ski for first tricks and turns in powder: easy and effortless in every condition.
All-mountain, leaning off-piste. Fischer puts it in its freeride / all-mountain range ('more off-piste') and lists top performance for groomers and powder. At 90–92 mm (by length) it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Fischer says its sandwich sidewall build and freeski rocker give impressive stability on hard and soft snow. It has no metal layer: a poplar wood core with Fischer's Fiber Tech glass-fibre layer.

Questions
Asked in store, answered by our fitters
What length should I get?
Our Find my length tool starts from your height: intermediates about 8 cm under their height and advanced skiers about 3 cm under; plus 4 cm if you're heavier than most people your height, minus 4 if lighter. Example: an intermediate skier 170 cm tall gets about 162 cm, so the 162. We carry 162 and 172 cm.
Is this ski right for my level?
It's for intermediate to advanced skiers. Fischer calls it the perfect entry-level ski for first tricks and turns in powder: easy and effortless in every condition.
Is it for groomers, all-mountain or powder?
All-mountain, leaning off-piste. Fischer puts it in its freeride / all-mountain range ('more off-piste') and lists top performance for groomers and powder. At 90–92 mm (by length) it's wider than the 66–80 mm we suggest for mostly groomed Ontario runs.
Will it hold an edge on icy Ontario groomers?
Fischer says its sandwich sidewall build and freeski rocker give impressive stability on hard and soft snow. It has no metal layer: a poplar wood core with Fischer's Fiber Tech glass-fibre layer.
Does it come with bindings?
No, it's sold flat (ski only), so you choose the binding. Pick one whose brake is at least as wide as the 92 mm waist.
Will my boots fit? What does GW mean?
That depends on the binding you add. For GripWalk boots, choose a binding marked GW (GripWalk-compatible); standard alpine boots fit any alpine binding.
What's its turn radius?
The turn radius is 13 m at 162 cm and 15 m at 172 cm.
Is it a men's or women's ski?
It's a unisex ski. Fischer makes one Ranger, and a women's ski is only a length difference. This listing has 162 and 172 cm; our other Ranger listing groups the shorter 142, 152 and 162 cm.
Is it stiff or soft?
Soft. Fischer doesn't publish a flex rating; this is from independent reviews and ratings.
Can you mount bindings on them? Do I need my boots?
Yes, when you buy bindings with them: mounting is then free and the same day at Richmond Hill and Ottawa. We set the bindings to your boots, so bring yours or buy boots with the skis; you check and sign off on the setup in store. Skis we ship go out unmounted.
Does it have rocker or camber?
It has Fischer's Freeski Rocker. Rocker shortens the contact length of the ski, so turns start more easily and with less effort.
What warranty does it have?
It's covered by Borderline Outdoor's 1-year warranty. If something goes wrong, contact us with your order details.
